Default Front end rebuild

My struts and ball joints are gone, the car groans when I steer so the strut bearings are gone. The only good is that I rebuilt the sway bar last year. HEre are my questions:

Are the control arms rebuildable or is it really worth the extra money to replace them, how much hassle is it to put in new rubber and ball joint?

I know I need strut bearings on top of the strut, but do I need to replace the strut mounts also? what are the strut mounts on these cars, is there rubber inside, do new strut mounts come with new bearings in them or do I need both or can I jsut clean and paint my mounts and install new bearings?

I have to replace the bellows, anything else I'll find I wish I had purchaed the parts for?

Guess you can tell, I'm trying to do this on a budget, please advise...

Ive done my 940 but not my S40 but I'm about to, any tricks on these cars or is it pretty straight forward?

The bearing is plastic so you might get away with fresh grease. The mount is rubber in a metal housing and if it's bad it's not repairable. If you are on a budget you do not have to replace either of them though. They will make more and more noise but you can drive them a long time. When I replaced my bearings and mounts I found the bearings to be in good shape but lacking grease. The mounts were toast though with rubber bits falling out when I took the strut apart. The tell was the strut was not centered in the strut housing due to the rubber failing.
