Default Front end vibration.

2002 s40 1.9 turbo. I have severe vibration in front end when I accelerate. Doesn't matter if I am on incline or flat ground. I have heard a click on occasion when I turn wheel. It usually levels out when I hit about 70MPH. I've been told could be CVjoint. I can't afford "could be's" Please help. I have had front end aligned. New tires. Seals on turbo replaced. Any help would be appreciated.

Well that's all you are going to get on this site. Without actually looking at the car all we can do is guess. But a bad axle would cause a really harsh vibration upon acceleration. Normally the left axle goes bad but ive seen the right one go out along with it as well.

Default Checking CV joints?

I'd suspect the axle/CV joint as well. Vibrations can come from tire/wheel, hubs, brakes or the axle shaft so if you are not sure, try some other tests. Since you suggest the vibration changes with power I'd tend not to think its the tires but you can try a fast front to rear rotation just to see.. First step would be to do a visual inspection - is the boot on the CV joint torn or leaking grease? Jack up the front, check wheels for play, any sounds when rotating by hand etc? Remove each wheel to have a look at suspension and the half shafts. You can also check for thumps or clicks by turning the wheel full at a dead stop and accelerate very slowly listening for noises, try both sides and straight to see if you hear anything. Just to be sure, I'd also drive at a normal speed (ie 30-40) and listen if there are any sounds when turning right vs left vs straight. This will clue you in if a hub or bearing is worn...

What MT6127 said...a visual + a wheel rotation is the place to start.

The "click" when turning is the tell-tale sign for a CV joint.
