Fuel Filter - sensor on strap!

Fuel Filter - sensor on strap!
I have a 2001 S40.
I changed the fuel filter and noticed there are some electrical wires connecting to the plastic strap that
holds the filter in place. Is this some sort of sensor attached to this strap? What does it do?

The wire is not connected to anything working. The strap is just a Dumy Plug to hold it.
Not sure what the wire is for never looked it up. But never seen it connected to anything working.
