Default fuel injectors

looking at replacing the injectors on my 06,non turbo,s40.does the color coding of injectors make any difference?would the injectors for a turbo engine run richer or leaner?.would appreciate any input.

No Turbo engines require higher flow rate , replace with same

In theory it does not matter what you use for injectors.

If the O2 sensor thinks it's too rich, the ECU will fire the injectors a shorter period of time. And conversely if the O2 sensor thinks it's too lean - the injectors will stay open longer. Too rich or lean long enough and codes will be set. I trust you have scanned for codes.

If you think it's lean - you should be looking at your fuel trims first - That will tell you what the O2 sensor is thinking. Then make an informed decision (rather than randomly replacing parts on a guess because you "think" it's lean)

Sure it's possible that it's lean due to low fuel pressure or any other number of reasons - but codes will usually appear.

re hoonk, you are absolutely correct in what you say.but i am working in my driveway with limited tools and less money.i am getting a check engine light.saying #1 cyl is too lean, also get light #3 misfire if revved over 3200 rpm, although the engine feels to run fine in either case. did check for air leaks and found none.

A common problem is the fuel pressure regulator , if you put your foot down and it hesitates than its normally the problem , but check codes first
