Grinding Noise at certain RPMs/speeds
Hello,
I own a 2005 S40 (T5/AWD) and at certain speeds and RPMs it makes a slight grinding noise-- best describedas if I'm driving over a washboard. It happens in the 30-45 mph range, when the RPMs are pretty low (around 1300), and (most consistently) when my foot it lightly on the accelerator. It does it every single time I drive.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I've had it checked out multiple times, and the Volvo techs can't find anything wrong with it.
Thanks!
MCH

the grinding noise you hear might be the torque converter. When your driving and let off the gas pedal a bit, the trans will maintain the speed your at but drop down in rpms....if this is the case its normal and a lot of cars have it...
