I had a non-op hazard switch and decided it was reckless not to restore it. 2000 S-40....someone had actually posted a link to great instructions and the $50. switch (volvo dealership) was installed in @ 30 min. I forget most of the procedure (sorry), but I believe that I had to remove the radio. I know for a fact that I had to remove the two self-contained vents akimbo to the hazard switch using a small slot screwdriver as directed by the link. Once you find the instructions (persevere!)---take your time and do it in a well- lit area to avoid damage to other parts. Trust me...once you do get your problem fixed, you will be glad you did it yourself. Good luck, friend.
