Headlight issues
My wife's 2004.5 T5 has been giving us problems lately! We are now having problems with the passenger side low beam. The car is saying Bulb Failure Low Beam. Say i took the headlight out and replaced the bulb. I'm not retarded, i know how to change a bulb, but the car still says bulb failure. I unhooked the car's battery in hope of resetting the computer but it stilll reads the same thing. I'm hoping someone on here knows what's going on before i jam this car up Volvo's ***!
Thanks for your time,
Brian

New here, came looking for pretty much the exact same problem you are experiencing. 2005 S60, driver's side low beam is failing. I start the car and it lights up perfectly, then 10 seconds later it goes out and I get the "Bulb Failure Low Beam" message on the dashboard.
I'm VERY new to owning a Volvo. Despite it's likely not as simple as dropping in a new bulb, how in the heck do are we supposed to be able to get in there to replace it? I have mere inches behind the headlight housing in which to try to navigate, no way I replace it this way?
So I guess I'm looking for advice on both issues, why does the light work, then go out? And advice on changing these easily.
thank you

there is a pin that you pull out, then you wiggle the headlight out a little bit and then you have to push the headlight out toward the outside of the car-there is a little snap thing at the rear of the headlight. once that is done you can take the headlight out and disconnect the wiring harness. On the back side of the headlight there is two "wires" that hold a cap on the backside of the headlight assembly, remove that and you'll see all the bulbs inside. good luck!
