Default Help 06 s40

Need some help here Please! I am new to the Volvo line, I have always driven Saabs and and Toyota and I do a lot of work myself, so I know a little about them, but not much about Volvo yet. I just bought a 2006 s40 that looks very clean and was running well until last week when it started running very rough sounded like it was missing aweful sound especially when starting from a stop. So I went to the volvo dealer here in tampa and bought the plugs, air filer, and oil filter. Put in the new plugs, air filter, and changed the oil. Still runs very rough, every once in a while it runs smooth like it should only when you are at higher RPM. Has anyone else experienced this? Please help! Not sure what else to check and definitely can not afford dealer prices. Does anyone know a good indy shop in Tampa?
Thanks for any help

Check the codes first. Running rough like that will set a few.

This model has a fuel pressure sensor, not a fuel pressure regulator. The fuel pressure is regulated by varying voltage to the fuel pump. If the sensor goes bad it will cause a loss of power and rough running. It's a simple fix but it's not cheap.

Normally an ignition fault will run rougher the higher the rpm's go. And it will never clear up on it's own. That is why I suggested the fuel pressure sensor.

Default Could this be another Motor Mount?

Thanks for the information. At this time I have no codes no check engine lights on but the engine still has a vibration. I put in new plugs from the dealer, oil change and air filter change and I changed out the right side motor mount which was real bad.
The engine has good power and runs smooth but still vibrates at idle.
When the engine vibrates at idle is this another mount that is bad? Once you are driving the vibration gets some better but still is there.
Anyone with experience on motor mounts please share, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks!

Definitely check the passenger side motor mount. Mine split in two and the car made a bad metal-on-metal knocking once the rubber part wore down.
