Angry HELP car has no acceleration

Ok on sunday car was running fine, got gas, parked it and then 5hrs later left and hit the gas to accelerate and it started stuttering and hesitating....would speed up a bit then fall flat on its face...feels like hitting a brick wall. and it also stumbles at idol only in R or D. But if you can drive it when you only ease on the gas pedal still got some acceleration but not what it used to have with the turbo. Only one have I seen the check engine light come on while it was stumbling. You hear the turbo spool up and then it stumbles and sometimes you go no where...like you hit a break wall. gas is to the floor but rpms are staying at 2500rpm

So any thoughts. I really need to have to car operational for work.

I have heard bad gas?
Fuel pump could be going?
Coil could be going?
Leak in turbo system?

Thank you for your help

If you saw the MIL come on, it was misfiring. Use Volvo plugs, may need the 2 wires and the 2 coils replaced, they crack right down the seam and are hard to see. Start with this.

Search this site for fuel regulator on the rail and IAC valve as well.

I cleand the IAC and I think I could rule out the FPR....the car starts up right away every time.

Does this model use a MAF sensor? I am not an expert on the newer Volvo's but your symptoms sound like a faulty MAF sensor...if it does ahve a MAF sensor I would test it..I know on the older vovlo's you can unplug it and if car runs then you plug back in and it runs worse or dies...it's bad. You can also test with a Fluke 88 multimeter but if you don't know what you're doing hard to explain...good luck

Without actually seeing how the car is running, your problem really sounds like it is ignition related. Start with the plugs (Volvo plugs).

It is also possible that you got contaminated gas (water) but I think it would run worse.

I was thinking the contaminated gas also...

The car run fine....just a few hiccups here and there.

I will try the MAF

Ok update....with the car in Drive or reverse the engine stumbles at IDLE.but when put in neutral it clears up with a few stumbles but not alot....but when you get on the gas it clears up...but still when i get on turbo then it just like hitting a brick wall then really stumbles.

What does the IAC do?
