I have a 2001 s40 1.9t. When I gently accelerate its fine. When I press down for a rapid acceleration it hesitates and the check engine light comes on. I got a tune-up and tried fuel injector cleaner. What else could the problem be?

 

Were the ignition coils and spark plug wires replaced in the tune-up?

Also, which brand plugs were used. The turbo 1.9L engine is kinda picky when it comes to spark plugs. Plus the gap needs to be correct. It's tight at .028".

 

to be honest...i really dont know which kind of plugs were used. i know the spark plug wires/ignition coils werent changed because they (precision tune) pinched the wires and i had to have it towed to Volvo. it wouldntt start. $200 for a piece of wire and labor!!!!!! Being new to volvo i guess i need to take it back to volvo and get the tune up done correctly?!!!!

 

my check engine light came on and i took my car to Auto Zone to get a Diagnostics ran. They told me it was my thermostat. Im so confused right now
