High fuel pressure + P0026 and P0191/0190
Hello
I have a series of P codes and weird behavior and have done a host of initial diagnostics and web searching and am scratching my head on where to go next. I hope to get some ideas and feedback:
Codes
P0171
P0191 and P0190
P0026
Car 2005 S40i 2.4L
I've researched these. The 190/191 was giving me concerns on fuel rail pressure. I had a boggy start that almost failed on day and this started me in earnest on the problem. The P0171 is a lean indicator so I surmised that the fuel pump is going.
So I made a pressure sensor fitting for the fuel rail Shrader valve and proceeded to measure pressure. The auto store indicated that nominal pressure was 35 to 41 psig. My measurements were 50 psig at high idle and 60 psig at low idle. This seemed very high so I checked and calibrated the gauge and this confirmed to within 2 psid.
I would figure the high pressure would kick on the P0190 pressure sensor light continuously but there are no check lights currently on.
So that's my situation. Lean fuel but high pressure. I'm totally perplexed. I am thinking mass flow sensor but I really just don't know.
Hope to benefit from other's knowledge.
Thank you. Best regards
