Default Hood Scoop

Hello, I have a 2006 Silver s40. I am thinking of putting a small hood scoop on it. Had anyone done this? And does anyone know what kind of paint (or paint code) would match the silver best?

A hood scoop....What kind of scoop are you planing on doing and will it be functional or just cosmetic?

This one got laughed at all over swedespeed and C30world

Do something like this and you'll have a winner on your hands...

A few guys have done the Evolve fender scoop things that look really good as well..

Nothing to worry about. In the end it's your car and you can do whatever you want to it.
I personally think that it looks terrible and there is nothing about the scoop that fits the lines of the car. Also it's simply a stick on scoop with no real world functionality.
But that's just my opinion.

I would spend the money on something that would look good and increase the performance of the car.

Can you post any pics of your car as it looks right now?

I'll take some pictures in the morning. In the second picture, what kind of scoop is that?

That car is Heico's HS4 Odin. They never made that hood for sale unfortunately. You may be able to have a body shop mock something like that up but it'll probably be pretty spendy.

Non functional scoop is a no no in my book. If you've got a 69 Mustang Mach I then yes, but a S40, uh uh. Spend the money on something useful, K & N Filter, etc.

That vent on the HS4 Odin car is a Ralliart unit, I suspect. It looks identical to the neighbours EVO. It is very good at dissipating heat from underbonnet, it's not a 'scoop' that feeds air in. I'm thinking of doing the same on my P1 T5, and maybe the side vents in the 855R. Those wheels are the 18" from the XC90, just with lo-pro road tyres.
