early 2004 S40

When i pull the lever inside the car to pop the hood nothing happens and i can't lift the hood to push the latch. How can i fix this? or should I bring it into the shop. Has anyone else had this problem?

 

Can you get your head up under the dash to see if the cable is still hooked to the lever? I'm thinking if the cable is still hooked up then it is probably broken up front. I've never run into this and am unsure how to proceed without taking things apart.

If it's not hooked to the lever then you may be able to grab the cable end with some vice grips and open the hood. You would have to replace the cable but at least your hood is open. Just a guess.

 

Yeah I should have thought of that. It's raining right now but ill check it out tomorrow.
