Horrible Strange Noise 2005 S40
Hi Guys,
New to forum so please go easy on me
Got a Volvo s40 2005 1.8 Petrol and have a rather strange noise come from the car after its stood overnight and started on a morning. Most mornings its there if its been cold or damp.
It comes from the front right of the car (drivers side UK) and its a like a slapping noise of a belt which is soaked through but it fades away after about 5 minutes. It sounds awful. I have absolutely no way of working out what it is and had it for quite some time. I stook it in at a garage and they changed a belt which made no difference but its hard to replicate the problem unless its stood all way through night in cold/wet.
Anyone any ideas what it could be. We get the odd start where power to the engine doesnt seem to be there so we turn off and go again and its usually fine second time.
