Hey guys...

I have a volvo s40 1997 1.8c, and was told it was one of the first generation.

Recently my air intake pipe/hose split and its been such a mission trying to find one. Any ideas?

Really appreciate any help/ideas.

Have you tried a dealer for the part?

 

I'm from new Zealand and I've tried all the spare part dealer and they don't have it. They said something about my Volvo is the first generation of s40 and the parts are hard to come by...

Yes I do but not sure how to post it...

 

I use a service called Photobucket to host my pics. Then I can link my photos uploaded there to this forum. There are several different photo hosting services to choose from. Some ISPs give free webspace to their customers. This can also be used if you are savvy and know how to set up a website.

It looks like the S40 wasn't in the US 'till 2000. The internet parts houses are a major resource for part identification, even if you don't intend to have them ship it to NZ.
Offhand, it looks a lot like the part on my 2006 V50. You could check the part # (molded in).
