Alright so I am really wanting to buy a canoe but I have no idea how to transport it on my 2001 Volvo S40. I don't have a rack on it and I have a sunroof so I don't know if it's even possible to install one. A rack would look dumb on that car so if I did get one, I would only want to have it on when I was actually going to take my canoe somewhere. I'm new to this and very lost as to how any of it works. I don't think I've ever seen someone with a canoe on a car like this. Any suggestions??? I appreciate any help I can get!

 

It would fit, but obstruct your view while driving... you should have places to mount a rack on top of the car, looks like you can take out the plug with a penny. May want to conside a kayak. lighter, smaller, better...
