HI! MY 2001 VOLVO S40 STEREO LCD SCREEN READS OFF AND I CAN'T PUT THE CODE TO UNLOCK THE RADIO. IF SOMEONE KNOWS HOW TO DO THIS PLEASE HELP ME. THANKS.

 

Turn key to POS 1, radio on, leave there until it says code again.

(may be for awhile...)

 

So did this solve the problem of the radio.I didn't know that.Its also helpful for me.

 

You have to leave the key in POS 1 for like 2 hours than it will ask for your code,has worked for me

It' specific for each car. Look in the owners manual to see if it's written down. Otherwise go buy a nice stereo from (insert fav stereo store) with an iPod connector. I bought one with bluetooth so my daughter can talk hands free. Too bad she only texts....

 

To get a code for your radio call a Volvo dealer..have vin # ready.
It was easier than I thought. : )

 

yup only way. but be sure to check the bottom of the fuse box cover under the hood (where I rewrite them) or on top of the radio itself (pull it out of dash)
