I can't get the rear brake calipers off
I've tried to get the rear brake calipers off a 2002 s40 but the caliper pin just spins. Volvo said I needed a very expensive tool to compress the rear calipers in order to get them off. After some asking I got a part number (SDX 9512661) but Volvo won't sell it to me. Anybody know what the tool is and where I can find it.
Thanks in advance.

ipdusa sells the tool (in Portland, so that may be of little help to you);

RE: I can't get the rear brake calipers off
You could go to the back where the mechanics are, just find an open bay door don't ask permission at the front, and find out when their tool truck comes. They usually have at least one come by every week. Snap on, USA tools, Matco. I bought the oil filter socket from the truck and paid half the price that the dealer wanted. The trucks are not cheap compared to Napa but they can get the right tool if they don't have it.

Snap-on sells a set of tool (universal) to turn caliper pistonback into position but its pricy.Or use aC-clampput slight pressure on the piston and use a pair of angled needle nose pliers to turn pistonin by using the tip of the needle nose pliers on to the 2 holes on the piston. as it move intighten c-clamp and use needle nose to turn it in until it goes in fully... hope this helps
