Default 780 rims & 240 brake calipers

Ok, I'm needing some help here. I just bought a set of rims from a 780 Bertone for my '90 240. When I went to put them on with a new set of tires the rims fit on the studs just fine, but the caliper sticks out too far and touches the inside of the rim. The rear is fine but the front wheel won't turn at all. Are there any calipers that will work on a 240 with these wheels or should I just scrap the project and sell the wheels?

So, if the offset of the new wheel is 25 and my OEM wheel is 20 then I would only need 5mm spacers, right?

I believe 5mm should work just fine.
If not you can always call IPD or the place you get them and see if they carry the other sizes (10mm, 15mm...ect.).

Good luck.

What can you tell me about them being hubcentric or not? There seems to be quite a lot of suggesting online that they should be. Does this really matter?

Well I believe that the Hubcentricadapters are goodas they prevent any lateral motion from therim to the adapter. It is more precise and provides a better fit. Does it really matter....maybe....it depends on the rim. I am not sure if the if the old rim will have the groove for the hubcentric style adapters. You will have to check the wheel to see if it will work...I assume it should. You can always call IPD and see if it will work.

Good luck

kaplhenke sells longer wheel studs which can be push in to the stock hub.

Check here fro 240 fitment: http://www.kaplhenke.com/index.php?o...d=65&Itemid=32

Wait for the experts to get on.
