Hi all,

My fiance has a 2008 S40 non-turbo auto that did something weird last night on her way home from work. She got in the car and said something flashed (I think the lights on the dash but I am not entirely sure, she wasn't very specific). Then, this morning she went to start the car from the garage and go to work and the car wouldn't start. I don't know if it was cranking or if it was completely flat with the turn of the key, but it said "Immobilizer, Check Manual" and will not start.

Before we have it flat bedded to the dealership - what's the deal? She's going to try her other key. Short of that I am not sure what else to do. I'd love to check the manual but can't find a copy. She's borrowing a car for the day to get by but we need to figure this one out.
