Hello all.
I have a '97 S40 1.8. The immobilizer light stays on, and has done for about 12 months. I recently had a service (non-dealer) who read the codes but could not reset them, nor cure the problem. The 3 fenix 5.1 codes are as follows;

221 - No transponder comm.
212 - Antanna ring error
223 - transponder comm. error

Mostly, the car starts no problem, but 1 in about a 1000 turns, the starter fails to turn. The alarm, however, hasn't worked since this fault started.

Does anybody have any ideas as to how the problem can be cured.
