I just tried to start my car, and the electronics came on, but the engine didn't start. The little message area said "Immobilizer - See manual". I tried it again, it started, the car shuttered twice, and it stalled. I gave it about 2 minutes, tried it again, and it was fine, I drove 15 miles home.

It was about 100 degrees in Boston today so I don't know if that is messing with it. It seems like if it were the immobilizer, it wouldn't have started then stalled the second time.

I can't an appointment at the dealership for over a week.

Thoughts?

 

A battery on it's last legs will act like that too. And heat kills batteries the fastest. Just something to watch out for. You have jumper cables, don'tcha?
