I have a 2001 S40. One keyless remote was lost and we purchased two replacement units. The dealership tried to reprogram the car and could not get it to work. They told us that they thought the receiving unit on the car would not release any of the existing codes and, as a result, would take no new codes. To verify, it would take at least 2 hours of probing, i.e., labor. Does this sound plausible. Is there any way to validate the suggestions here. I have a hard time with this dealership because I think they are less than totally honorable. Any thoughts or comments would definitely be appreciated.
