Default looking for an affordable intake

Hi, i have a 2006 volvo s40 2.4i and I'm looking for a more affordable intake than the k&n typhoon cold air intake. the reason is because the cheapest i can find it is for around 260. im looking for something under $200 that will still be close to as good in performance. any ideas or suggestions?

Check out EST (EuroSsportTuning.com).

Or...You can go to AutoZone and get a Spectre cone filter ($25) and some pipe ($10-$25) andmakea heat shield. Total ~$50

I've been seeing a lot of people mentioning of the est intake...I own it and like it, but everyone should know that it's not a cold air intake but rather a ram air intake setup..little bit different. Just wanted to clarify for everyone out there....

Is that heatshield made out of plastic? If so, it isn't doing a damn thing!
EST's heat-shield is made of metal, good too!
Go to EST, or just slap on a cone filter with no heatshield!

No. it is doulbe-walled cardboard with High heat spray paint. It works the same if not better then the ones on the market, oh yeah, it is free!
The OEM intake is also plastic. It doesnt matter what theboxis made out of, as long as it is treated properly.
Cardboard is lighter then metal, plus metal heats up faster then mycardboard setups, and I think it is easier to work with.
