Default Low windshield washer fluid light?

When the winshield washer on my 2002 Volvo s40 is empty (or very low) does a light come on, on the dash?

I think so and the image resembles a sprinkler, sprinkling water.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Default Does not show light when windshiled washer fluid is low.

Okay, since the low windshield washer fluid light comes on when I start the car (if only a for a second) then it cannot be the low windshield washer light. Is there a sensor that is not working and must be replaced? Again, my car is a 2002 Volvo s40.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

AFIK, You should be seeing ALL the warning lights flash as you start up. That's one way to verify that the LEDs are working.

Assuming that the level sensor is a float style then if the float is stuck it will never turn on the low level light. If you have run it dry without receiving the low level indication then you most likely need to either replace the sensor or if you remove it you may be able to clean it to free up the float.
