I want to do a 5.3 ls swap into my s40. I think it'll fit but before I go buying anything I wanna hear what you guys have to say. I just got my s40 1.9t and I love it but think it would be bad *** if I could throw an ls in it I'm thinkin a th400 trans and a ford 9" rear . I don't know much so fill my with your knowledge 😂

 

not sure what you are asking about here - your post asks if you can throw a small block v8 into a transverse FWD car and then use a GM rear wheel drive transmission with a ford rear differential? Sure you can do it. Start by removing the S40s engine, transmission, floor pan, front suspension, rear suspension. Find a donor car like an old Mustang and use a Sawzall to cut the body off the floor and frame. Weld your S40 body onto the Mustang - doing some nip and tuck work to make the two different cars of similar size. Once that is done, you should be able drop in your V8, transmission and rear end... after about 50,000 worth of work, you will have a Mustang that looks like an S40 or you could just go out buy a Mustang with a V8 already installed. I do like the idea of using the GM turbo hydromatic transmission so your mom can drive you to school in it. :-)
