Default Oil in the coolant expansion tank

Need some expert help first time posting. I have a 2010 S40 , Iwas driving home from work tonight and I started to smell electrical burning. Got to the house and when I opened the hood and noticed that my coolant tank cracked and the coolant is a dark with oil. Started researching; car still runs, no air bubbles in the tank while it's running with the cap off and no coolant in the oil, it's a little low but still good. I'm US military stationed in Germany, if I can do this job myself without going to a local garage it would be great! Any help is appreciated on this.

Does the oil cooler show any signs of damage/leaking? I wonder if a compression test on the cylinders might be the place to start as well as a pressure test of the cooling system.

it's a manual , I had a broken English conversation with a german mechanic and he said it didn't have one being a manual.
