I've noticed if the car is left in the sun for any length of time and the cabin becomes quite hot that the message centre where messages and clock etc is located does not work, as soon as the cabin cools down it starts working again - anyone got any idea's?

 

sounds like a physical connection that is opening up due to temperature. Could be a connector needs to be reseated/cleaned or a crack in a board or a solder joint.
