Default missing vacuum hose?

2007 Volvo S40, 2.4L Engine B5244S7. Non turbo automatic trans.

The EVAP Purge Valve P/N 8653909 has a 2 pin connector and a hose running to the bottom of the intake manifold (near the throttle body). This relatively small hose is connected and good. But on the bottom of the valve there is a ~3/4" nipple but nothing connected to it. Occasionally it makes a suction sound when the engine is idling and sucks air into this valve. Should there be a hose attached to it? If yes, where does the other end of this missing hose go? The image shows the nipple facing up but it actually faces down when the purge valve is mounted (with a rubber sleeve) to a steel bracket.

Did some research and it appears that I'm missing hose 8658723. Dont know where the other end attaches. Hose #6 attaches to valve #15. Where does other end of hose attach?

I've searched for an hour and still dont see where my missing hose would connect. One end goes to the purge valve. The other end I dont see anything within 6" that has a fitting. Any suggestions?

I found the hose. I removed the battery and battery tray and the hose was there!

yep, one line is the vaccuum hose to the intake, the second hose goes to the back to pull the stored vapors into the intake when the valve is opened. if that back hose is off or torn you would likely get a small evap leak CEL code.
