While you are at it should also delete the 2nd CAT together with the 1st muffler to gain about 18HP.Without muffler you will be crazy loud and it doesnt sound sporty at all.Take both CAT out have a 3" DP installed and leave the OEM muffler on or choose a muffler but please have one installed.

I'm in Texas, and at the moment, i barely pass inspection so have to leave the second cat in place. And without the muffler sounds really bassy. Me and a friend did it both, 1.9's are not great sounding engines as it is.

I dont know the rules there in Texas but I was told the 2nd CAT is required in CA only to complie with the tight emission rules there.Still dont know if there is an actual visual inspection all the time or only at the first time. The 2nd CAT is not being monitored by anything its just there to hog the gas flow so if there is no visual inspection in Texas which would require you to have it then just take it off.
See if there is no visual inspection there and they not measuring the exhaust content at the tail you can take both CAT out and use a cheater to fool the ECU not to throw a code for it.
Still I was told that this car did pass inspection with only the 1st CAT in place when they carried out a smoke test at the tail.
