2008 volvo s40 2.4 5 cylinder without the turbo

my obII scanner has reset everything else but it cant see any more codes for anything yet my srs airbag warning light is on and my bliss detection warning system light is on

unplugging the battery for an hour does nothing to reset these warning messages but its not showing any codes with the obII scanner

You need to find a OBD2 tool that can view/delete chassis codes for the SRS system. While all will do powertrain codes (ie the P codes), not all scanners will do ABS codes and even fewer will do SRS. disconnecting the battery doesn't clear codes. You may be able to "rent" a full featured scanner from a big box store like Autozone. Also, how do you know that you don't have a fault that is just getting reset?

As to the BLIS system fault, that may need a Volvo dealer to diagnose the code to see if there's an issue with one of the sensors or cameras. My expectation is that is a set of proprietary diagostics.

just got passenger headlight, bumper, and grille replaced from minor accident and the guys left all kinds or wires lose while running the car while it got moved around at the body shop. they even forgot to plug the TPS back in or acidently unplugged it without noticing it, so i cleared those codes but the SRS airbag light wasnt on before it went to body shop but now it is.

guess i will have to bring it to someone who has the right scanner to reset it and read the issue to find what part needs changing

the bliss system was showing before repairs and i had the passenger mirror replaced suince that seemed to be the one having issues so i "think" its fixed now and just needs to be reset

i did check for loose connections under the seat and jiggled the wires but everything looked ok

what i had to do was go to an automotive repair shop

it takes more then just a regular style OBII scanner it has to be a professional scanner that can do everything

guy fixed it in 5 seconds and charged me $50 to do it

Hi, I am glad you solved your issue... I will try to get a scanner that gives all the fault codes. Thx!
