hi, just bought a 2005 volvo s40 t5. when im at a very low speed or complete stop, and then accelerate, there is a odd rumpling noise(sounding as if i just hit many big small bumps) not sure how to describe, just seeing if any heard or had the same problem.

getting checked out in a week or two but was just curious, thanks!

 

Is the sound coming from the engine bay?

 

sounds around there or from tires, ive heard it could be a breaking bearing, or axels slipping or muffler pipes in engine rattling i have no clue haha

 

Those are all possibilities I suppose. Other things off the top of my head, maybe one of the motor mounts is bad, or something as simple as loose plastic in the wheel wells, or maybe heat shielding around exhaust components.

 

my dad took to the mechanic and i think he said it was the axels slipping and rumpling, basically its gunna cost $1200-1400 to fix...... LUCKILY I BOUGHT THE A YEAR WARRENTY FOR 450$ WHICH COVERS IT FOR!))))
