Oil Change 200 S40
Took my car to get the oil changed in it the other day. Took it some where other than the dealership for the first time, and they couldn't get the black cap off to change the oil filter. What kind of special tool do you need to take this off? Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks guys!

Hi plynhrd117.
Yup, they need a 16 sided 88mm cup socket - see http://www.lasertools.co.uk/item.aspx?item=1696&cat=375 for more details.
Tell them that the black plastic eco oil filter housing should be re-tightened to 25 Nm (18.44 Ft-Lb) torque.
The tool is very cheap. Might be worth buying one yourself, so you can get the job done wherever you take the car!
Hope this helps.

Those tools on Ebay for 8 bucks are real crap. If that housing goes on too tight, it will snap the center out of that two piece tool. I would spend the extra and get the real tool.
