Default Opinions on wheel bearings needed

Hey everyone,
I need new front wheel bearings (at least one) on my 2007 V50. I assume they are the same or very similar as the ones on the S40 and I am wondering what I could expect to pay to have them replaced. Although I always appreciate those who suggest ways I could change them myself, unfortunately I cannot do the work myself and I don't have the space or the tools.

I'm hoping to avoid having the work done at the volvo dealer so hopefully that will be possible. Does anyone have any experience with this cost and care to share their opinion? It is greatly appreciated. I live in Michigan, if that helps the estimate.

THANKS!!

Book time on a 2002 S40 is 1.9hrs for one side, 3.8 for both.
That is to replace the bearing, not the hub. The hub will cost more but you will save in labor due to not having to press out the bearings on a 20ton press. They can be a bear at times.
Labor rates vary from shop to shop, so that is a big variable.
Part number for the bearing alone is 30884539. You can look them up yourself and see if you can get them cheaper. Book price is $95.93, so about $80 online sounds right.
The complete hub is 30884541 and lists at $223 a side. They should be available for under $180 online IMHO.

All these parts and times are for a 2002 S40, you should Google the part number etc for your vehicle and check

Further to LHT's post above I highly recommend grabbing a full hub and bearing from the junkyard and just replacing the whole darned thing. A lot easier and cheaper! Just make sure you pull the full abs sensor out of the junkyard part as you will need it.

agree on the whole hub approach. There's some vids on Youtube should you want to do it yourself or trust to your local indy. I did a quick price check (since I need to do the front left on my 850T while its still warm out) and the whole hub goes for $120 for a *** brand / $180 for OEM and the bearing alone goes for $80.

sorry just to clarify my last post - I meant get the whole assembly as in bearing/hub/spindle, not just bearing and hub. When you go about the job this way, all you have to do is take the axle out, pop the control arm out at the ball joint, undo the bottom two strut bolts, and the ARB link and slam the new one on. No pressing required. As I said, just make sure you get a spindle assembly that has the ABS sensor cable already attached and bob's your uncle.

The OP has a 2007, totally different than a 2002. The bearing alone is not available.

I would highly suggest against a used one. They are common to fail, so putting one in from a junkyard would be a waste of time.
