hey guys..i have a volvo s40 2.0T automatic when i drive and the engine runs hot it starts to fail like when i put more power on the pedal it keeps on cutting power. pls help.

 

How hot is it getting?

Other than the running hot, I would guess spark plugs.

 

does it happen after you've been driving a while (ie when the engine gets fully warmed up) or from the start? Does the car sound normal and is there a check engine light on? If you have the check engine light on, first step is to get the diagnostic codes read.

 

I'm having the same issue. Can't pass cause it cuts out the power. I can shut the car off and restart after 30sec and its back to normal again... Till I put the pedal down!

 

Start a new thread for your car and don't forget to give year and engine plus as much information as possible.

 

Do you have a check engine light?

How hot is hot? Like in the red on the gauge? Have you checked the coolant level?

What you describe could be several things from a bad fuel pressure sensor to a bad Turbo Control Valve or more things. Any additional information you could provide would be good.
