Remote Lock/immobilizer problem
Hi there,
I have not used my '98 S40 for about a week over Xmas. When I went to start it today the remote locking didn't work. My first thought was that the battery in the remote was gone, so I tried my spare (which was also working a few weeks ago) and that didn't work either.
I can open the car with the key, but the remote operates the immobilizer so I can't start it.
Do you know what could be the cause of this, and how I can fix it? Could it be the battery? How can I over-ride the immobilizer?
Thanks in advance!

It is more than likely your battery as you have left it idle for a while and assuming it was cold aswell. Get a check done on the battery and if it reads ok then it will be your fuse or relay that is buggered for the immobiliser!!!
