Default removing engine cover

when removing the engine cover to get access to the spark plugs, do you have to remove the air pipe that somewhat sits over the cover?

or can you simply remove the screws and slide it out from underneath the pipe?

if you do have to remove it, how do you remove it?

on my 2000 S40 I've never needed to remove the OTE ("over the engine") tube. I just remove the torx screws and slide the cover off. If you need to remove the OTE tube, its simply held on by two hose clamps and you can wiggle free of the rubber tubing.

The 2000 is different than the P1. I always remove the pipe. It's just a couple clamps and a couple 10mm screws.
