I have been searching for a repair manual for my 2000 S40. Are there any out there to be purchased? Chiltons? I recently changed my spark plugs and gapped them to the ones that came out because I had nothing to tell me otherwise. Roughtly 3.5 Does anyone know if this is right?

You don't say which model S40 you have, or which country you are in Sue, so plug gap & available manuals will vary depending on answer.

There are manuals available on disk via eBay & Haynes publish a manual for petrol S40 & V40 (1996 to March 2004), number 3569.

Spark plug gaps vary - the 1.8 GDI is 0.8mm, the 1.9 and the 2.0 Turbo models are 0.7mm, the 1.6, 1.8 non-GDI and 2.0 non-Turbo are 1.4mm.

My apologies... I am in the US there is only one model of the S40 for the year 2000 (ok at least as far as I know )It is the 1.9 Turbo model. I also did a search on eBay for Volvo S40 Repair Manuals. I see what you have indicated. However, I am a bit concerned about whether or not it would pertain to my car as the price is in GBP. Does anyone know if this covers American cars as well? Thank you,

In UK we have something like 8 engine variants including 2 diesels for year 2000!
