Default rims

I have a 04' S40 4 cylinder and I am looking to get new rims so I can put snow tires on them. I am wondering what bolt pattern the rims are and what other volvos or other vehicles have the same size. I would rather get a set from a junkyard than buy new. Thank you for any information.

Default RE: rims

I may be wrong here, but if the 04 has the same bolt pattern as the 2000-03 which I belive it does, then it is 4x114.3. This is also the bolt pattern of a 90-93 accord. Most after market rims, that fit accords, (lots of them) will fit your S40. Stock Accord rims sourced from a junkyard should be checked for clearance of the brake calipers as volvos is larger than the hondas. Either way if you find one to fit, one key point is to note that on the back rotors there are small screws that protrude from the mounting surface. If the chosen rim does not have an indentaion in that area, one must be made so the rim will mount flush to the rotor. These screws can also be removed but note that this will allow the rotor to move when the rim is off the car. I have done this and experienced no problems, but I can not promise that this is the correct way about doing it. Obviously, the best choice would be purchasing new rims, or finding a donor S40 in a junkyard. Especially if you need them for snow duty. But for an upgrade to the stock rims, your choices may be much greater due to the high demand for Hondas. Hope I helped.
