Where is the ecm of an 2001 s 40 lacated 1.9T and how to remove it

Looks to be under the radio in the center console. You have to remove the panels on the sides, not the radio.

Side panels, removing
Remove the screw (A) on the right and left side.
Remove the side panel on the right and left side.

Turning off ignition
Caution! At the earliest, disconnect connectors to the control module 30 seconds after the ignition has been turned off and the electric cooling fan has stopped running.
Control module, replacingRemoving the control module
Drill out shear screw for lock band.

Note! Remove drill burrs.
Remove lock band.
Remove screws that hold control module.
Wiggle out control module on the right side.
Loosen connector.

Control module, installing
Check that no pins or sleeves are damaged on the connector or control module.
Install connector on control module.
Bolt down control module.
Reinstall lock brace and new shear screw
FinishingOrdering software
Connect VIDA-station to car.
Select vehicle model, model year, engine alternative, and write chassis number in vehicle profile.
Order software according to description in 9139873

Reading out and erasing diagnostic trouble codes
Read out and erase diagnostic trouble codes.
Bolt down control module ECM.
Tighten until shear screw breaks.
Reinstall side panels on the right and left side.
Test the function.
