Hello!!!i m new to the forum so plz if the thread is allready told my apologies

i have a s40 2007 1.8 petrol with 130000 km i bought it with 120000.
before 2 days when i stop the car the rpms go instantly to 2500 and then felt to 1100 and stay there,,, and this do it every time i stop the car....any help?

Most members on this forum are in the US, so don't have info on the 1.8l motor. It's an odd symptom, and I'm hard pressed to come up with a solid suggestion. I guess I'd look for something wrong in the vacuum circuit, since that's what happens when you take your foot off the gas pedal (the vacuum goes to maximum). Volvo engines have a lot of vacuum-operated widgets and one of them could be causing your problem.
