Considering 2007 S40
I'm new to Volvo, and new to the forum.
My local dealer has a 2007 s40 with only 28K. Not CPO, with only 2 months left on the original factory warranty.
Any problems I should look out for with this car? I've driven a 98 Mercedes c class for the past five years and know quite a bit about cars.
Is there anything I should know about this car? Any common issues?
Thanks!
Mike

Goes through brakes fast, doesn't have auxilary or bluetooth and you can't add because the stereo and computer are integrated and fiber optic, interior finish gets damaged easily with kids, and I get too many speeding tickets because it is so much fun to drive! Oh, and the A/C cabin filter is a pain in the butt to change.
Actually the 2007 S40 does have a stock radio option with an aux port. That was the first year they added that option; 2004.5-2006 cannot have an aux port (except by the Dension Gateway 500 or an FM modulator/transmitter).
What engine are you looking at? I really love my T5, like palirwin said it's so much fun to drive! (no speeding tickets yet) Definitely test drive it, there's a delay in the accelerator pedal (because it's drive-by-wire) which you might find odd or annoying, but I assure you you'll get used to it very quickly. I have had my S40 for 8 days now, and after just a few days of driving, you get used to the delay.
The car takes premium gas - 91 octane (or higher). This, along with its mid-20s mpg (depending on the engine type and your driving style) means you will be putting a little more than average money into gas for it, especially for its size.

I've had my 2007 Volvo S40 for almost 8 months now and I absolutely love it. Like Ricket said, there is a tad of a delay in the accelerator, which really didn't take that long to adjust to. Handles great, moves quick when you really need it to, smooth ride. Although it does take 91 octane or higher, mine really dosn't eat the gas...which says a lot because I drive it like I stole it
