For a while now I've noticed that my fan stays on (sometimes longer than others) for 5 or 6 minutes after switching off from a 10 mile run.
Long story short....
I plugged it in to give me a rough idea what was going on.....
It basically showed me codes that indicated my eolys fluid had run out and DPF was struggling.
I refilled the eolys (it was empty) took it for a nice run but still the DPF was reading a fault and the car was constantly trying to do a regen. So I forced a regen through the OBD and nothing, no black smoke or anything. A few weeks later the car sort of went into a weird limp mode, on and off. I book it in for a DPF clean which has solved a lot of the problems but the mechanic picked up on the DPF pressure sensor reading a higher temperature than it should and recommended that I purchase a new one.
Easier said than done......
My question .... Is it possible for the car to run on a different DPF sensor? There's potentially 2 for my type of car, and could this be the reason why the car is constantly trying to regen.
I purchased an identical sensor to the one on my car, it worked for about 3 hours before going into full limp mode and came up with a new code "pressure sensor fault" as to which the vendor told me it wasn't compatible with my vehicle, although the other sensors on the market also come up as not compatible.
I've put my old sensor back on for now and the car is running ok only with the DPF in regen constantly it seems.....
