Hi guys, i'm having a bit of a problem with my '98 s40, 1.8 l4 engine. The car was just fine until about 3 hours ago when it just began losing rpm's while I stopped to pick up a friend. It usually works at 400 rpm in place but now i barely get 100 or even 50 and hence the engine turns off. It's real bad, since when cornering it goes off and together with it the ABS and the power steering, which is one way ticket to crash the car.

Can you please give me your suggestions as to what might be the problem? The car has no turbo, so that is off the list.

Does the car have spark? Fuel pressure?
