Hello all

I'm trying to decide between an 08 S40 or C30. I prefer the S40's sedan body style, but feel like I'd getting more car (engine wise) for my money with the C30. More options too.

Anyway I have a question about the S40's exterior trim piece which runs horizontally along the doors. Is it removable? On my last car, an 06 Charger all I had to do was spray some Goo Gone, grip, and rip. Viola! Beautiful smooth door panels. (Like the C30 comes with stock) Looked ten time better , IMHO. Can I do this on the S40, or is the an indentation, screw holes, or mounting harware underneath? Is the paint smooth under there?

P.S. Apologies if this has already been covered. I did a search but couldn't find anything.

 

If it is anything like the older 850's and 70 series models the trim does come off but... But there will be an indentation and mounting hardware underneath.
