Just purchased first Volvo, S40 model. Have noticed auto climate control noise which I am told is "normal." Sounds like repetitive squeaking. It is the servo motor. Also the fan shuts off for second or so when system in operation. Dealer tells me that this has been imechanical issue for some time. Volvo working on programming fix. The noise is always there. Anyone had this issue? What was fix. The continuing noise from the servo is intolerable. Never had before in any automobile.

Does it change with temp control or anything?

 

I just bought an S40 T5 and am noticing an intermittent fluctuating mechanical noise coming from the dash.
The Volvo tech at the dealer told me it is "excessive damper motor fluctuation noise". They confirmed that I have the most recent softwared and "recalibrated" the system but the noise continues. Sometimes the noise occurs even when the AC is off. The Volvo dealership initially said they were going to order a new damper motor but now said they are going to wait for a new software update in a couple of weeks. Any thoughts?
