Hello,my first post. My W reg S40 (petrol) has got 130 K on the clock and is a superb car. Drove out of my drive yesterday,a red light came on and the car died on me. I was able to start her up again and drive at a maximum 30mph,to be able to turn round and get back on my drive. No-one seems to want to touch the problem, but a friend told me to detach the battery for a few hours, reconnect and hey presto, the computer reset itself and seems to be running ok. My question to all you lovely people is : Is this a common problem and what should i do next,as i obviously do not want this happening when im a long way from home?
