My wife has a 2005 S40 T5 with 85km's and it is out of the manufacture warranty. We are considering keeping the car for a few years and throwing around the idea on getting a 3rd party extended warranty from WarrantyDirect. We are looking into coverage only on major components, does anyone have any advise? I've done some investigating and found WarrantyDirect to have a pretty good customer rating, has anyone else dealt with them?

I haven't heard of them. I would call a few local dealers and find out if they have dealt with them before. Also find out if Warranty Direct pays with credit card up front. At times the customer has to pay the full amount at dealer then wait for the extended warranty to reimburse.

 

The last time I checked about extended warranty and the dealer said that it is only for cars below 50k miles.
