S40 Loaded struts
Hello all.
I have a 2009 S40 T5 AWD R design that recently turned over 200K miles.
The strut assembly is starting to show that it is finally time to replace, and while I suspect it is only the bearings, I'd like to just replace the whole assembly.
Has anyone come across a fully loaded strut assembly that meets the R design specs and are decent quality, or do I just need to buy the components and assemble?
Thanks, Randy

Try googling "Volvo s40 quick struts". Personally, I'd go with an OEM quality kit from FCP or IPD if you want to be fresh top to bottom. Choice may come down to your skills/time/tools cost. Either way you'll want to get an alignment done afterwards.
I'd add that I always reuse the existing springs to prevent any unwanted change in ride height (which seems to happen VERY often with loaded struts). I cheaped out once on an Audi A3 and got to live with the front end being about an inch too high (until a dog totaled it - long story). ;-)
