I'm helping a friend with some front suspension component replacement in his 2007 S40. It's not AWD and the vin is yv1ms390772291914. I don't know what the month of manufacture is and I'd like to get a shop manual. I want to get the torque settings right on all the nut and bolts, etc. If anyone has these torque values or can tell me when this car was made, I will look them up or get a manual.

 

A VIN decoder will tell you its a S40i, the engine code, that its a sedan and the serial number which is usually referenced for mid year parts changes. If you want to know the build month, you should be able to find the build plate on the car which will list some extras including the mm/yy of the build, the paint code etc.

I really doubt the torque specs for the front suspension would vary year to year but I've had good luck just googling ie "Volvo S40 2007 repair manual PDF" to find content online. You can also check out eBay for CDs
